Welcome to My world – the world of biggest Fun of Lego bricks and have fun with Us. Maybe someday I will build something for You ;)

Simple mini lego sets buildings made of Lego blocks, sometimes it takes just a few hours and we can have the Cistercian Abbey in Sulejów.

I like these simple buildings made of Lego blocks, one of them is the order of self-government from Sulejów and the Church from the Monastery Complex of the Cistercian Abbey in Sulejów – located in Podklasztor (currently is the district of Sulejów) – it’s one of the best preserved Cistercian groups in Poland, which is a monument of Romanesque architecture. On October 22, 2012, the object was added to the list of Historical Monuments. Thus, it is an important Polish object because the Church of St. Tomasz Kantuaryjski is a three-aisled basilica. The year 1232 is adopted as the year of the end of construction. The church’s shape has been preserved intact. The front of the church is decorated with a Romanesque portal and a rosette. The temple’s equipment comes from the Baroque and Rococo period. Because of the fact that it is a very old object with an interesting shape, we have found that we can present it in very interesting way with the use of Lego blocks. Nevertheless, such maquettes are those with the transparent “simple structures made of Lego blocks”.

Mini lego sets made of Lego blocks – a few hours and a simple construction is over

Constructing this building I couldn’t believe that it is so old because it dates from 1176. It was probably built by Kazimierz II Sprawiedliwy, bringing monks from other abbeys (by the way, probably only free blocks would convince me to move from Champagne to Poland and it would be interesting whether in these times bubbles were produced or not!?

The monastery’s foundation took place allegedly in 1176, but most probably it was a dozen years later. It was performed by Prince Kazimierz II Sprawiedliwy bringing monks from the Morimond Abbey in Burgundy (now in Champagne) and assigning them lands near the crossing over Pilica in Sulejów. The prince’s initiative was also supported financially by the Bishop of Krakow Fulko and the Archbishop of Gniezno, Piotr Łabędź, especially meritorious guardian of the Cistercian council.

For the needs of the self-government promotion in Sulejów, we have prepared a visualization of the church in Sulejów made of Lego and 369 Lego blocks were used to create the project. The effect of our work mini lego sets can be seen on the visualization at the Lego Gallery.

We invite you to take a look at other maquettes created by Ideo Lego Mateusz Kustra.
